"One must do asana not merely as a physical exercise but as a means to understand and then integrate our body with our breath, with our mind, with our intelligence, with our consciousness, with our conscience, and with our core." - B.K.S. Iyengar
Vinyasa yoga incorporates breath with movement, and literally means "to place in a special way". A Vinyasa session will include thoughtful, intentional flow from one asana (pose) to the next, with emphasis on mind-body awareness and breath. It may be vigorous, but will always focus on your individual needs and objectives.
A more active, strength based practice, Vinyasa is much more "yang" energy based rather than yielding, "yin" energy. You will undoubtedly build strength and increase flexibility, as well as become more aware of the subtleties within your body. Like all sessions, this will be catered to your unique level and objectives.
